After a moment, Fallon spoke solemnly, Try to

General Cato vanished, and Fallon turned to
stare at Raven. The man had his head bowed. I

Fallon took two steps and wrapped his arms
around Raven. Now was the time.

Raven shivered in his arms. I knew you were

The two held each other for a while. Fallon
wasn t going to pull back after revealing what
Raven s fate was supposed to be. After a couple
minutes Raven stepped back, brushing a hand
through his hair.
Let s go get breakfast. I m starving. Fallon
pulled Raven toward the door.
I bet you are. You burned a lot of calories last
night. Raven chuckled but it sounded a little
forced. Fallon thought Raven seeing his friends
would help him after knowing the truth.
They walked down to the kitchen where all the

Wren looked up at them and choked on a piece
of bacon. Sebastian raised a brow at them, and
Aaron blushed, grabbing onto Hawk.
Fallon started to laugh.
Shut it. Raven stalked past him. What? It s
not like I haven t heard any of you lately.
Hawk snorted. Well, yeah, but I m sure a
picture didn t fall on your head when it
happened.
Fallon laughed. Poor bastard s room was on the
other side of Raven s headboard.
Duncan walked into the kitchen, and the guy
looked a whole hell of a lot better as he glanced
over his shoulder and glared at Phinn, who
entered behind him, smiling like the cat that
caught the canary.
Night got up. How you feeling? Need me to
get you something to eat?
I got it, Duncan growled.
Didn t you have enough protein this
morning? Phinn sat down with a smirk on his
face and leaned back in the chair with just the back
legs resting on the ground.
A piece of bacon sailed past Fallon and hit
Phinn right between the eyes. The phoenix fell
backward in his chair and landed in an
undignified heap on the ground. Fallon burst out
laughing along with the rest of the group.
Phinn stood and righted the chair before

glaring at Duncan. Fallon shifted his gaze to get a
look at Duncan who was giving the other phoenix
a stare that should have turned Phinn to ash.
The front door slammed open, breaking up the
icy atmosphere, and everyone pulled their
weapons.
Two Birds of Prey sauntered in.
Phinn blew out a breath. Buzz, Eagle, what are
you two doing here?
One of the guys bent over and picked the piece
of bacon off the floor before he popped the pig in
his mouth.
Buzz!
God, Buzz!
That s typical for a buzzard. Raven shook his
head next to him.
All Fallon could think was Ugh!
Buzz spread his arms out. It s relocation day,
motherfuckers.
Wren got up. Like hell. You re not coming to
live with us.
Buzz sat his ass on the table, then reached over
to David s plate and picked a pancake up before
stuffing it in his mouth. It s not us that s moving.

Fallon sat down. Oh, this was going to be good.

Night crossed his arms and leaned against the
kitchen sink. Athena didn t give us the orders.
Eagle came forward. The guy seemed the

the hell back. We knew Phinn was working with a
new Phoenix, and we knew you were all injured
so we thought you might need help getting up
north. Blood Demons are spreading everywhere.
Eagle rubbed his eyes as if he was tired. Fallon
thought they had probably driven the sixteen hour
trip straight. And they would be driving back.
The room was quiet for moment before Raven
spoke. What do you want us to do, Night?
Night stared at the ground before he looked up,
eyes landing on his mate, David. We have an
hour to pack. Take what you can. I ll get the trailer
out for the weapons and armory.
Fallon grabbed a handful of bacon and walked
out with the rest of them. They entered Raven s
room, and immediately, Raven started pulling out
